Product Structure Introduction — ZR-YJV 2×50 mm² (English)
Two-core layered construction description, from conductor to outer sheath · per GB/T 12706.1 & IEC 60502-1 · CU / XLPE / PVC · 0.6/1 kV

1. Purpose & Product Identity
ZR-YJV 2×50 is a flame-retardant twin-core low-voltage feeder, 0.6/1 kV AC, in the conventional copper / XLPE / PVC family. Manufacture follows GB/T 12706.1 / IEC 60502-1, cores per GB/T 3956 / IEC 60228 and fire class per GB/T 19666 (ZC unless a higher class is ordered). Overall diameter ≈ 26.2 mm, weight ≈ 1194 kg/km, normally supplied in 100 m drums.
Both cores are symmetrical live conductors intended for single-phase circuits; the product is not rated for flexible duty.

2. Conductor Sub-Assembly
Each core is built from ten soft-drawn copper wires of 2.52 mm (10/2.52), stranded to Class 2 with a nominal 50 mm² section and ≈ 8.3 mm diameter. Per-core DC resistance is held at or below 0.387 Ω/km at 20 °C, keeping 50 mm² in the 226 A air-current class while remaining flexible enough for duct pulling.

3. Dielectric Sub-Assembly
A 1.0 mm XLPE insulation coats every core, bringing the diameter over insulation to ≈ 10.3 mm. The cross-linked dielectric is good for 90 °C continuous running and 250 °C for five seconds on fault, shows volume resistivity of at least 1×10¹² Ω·cm and clears the 3.5 kV / 5 min routine voltage test.

4. Core Assembly & Outer Jacket
The two insulated cores are cabled together with dry, non-hygroscopic fillers (a binder tape is optional), giving a round core assembly of ≈ 20.6 mm. Over this sits a 1.8 mm flame-retarded PVC (ST2) jacket, closing the cable to ≈ 26.2 mm. The ZC flame rating is verified by GB/T 18380.12 and class-C GB/T 18380.35; because the jacket is halogen-bearing PVC, WDZ-YJY should be specified where zero-halogen is mandatory.

5. Handling & Application Advice
• Minimum bending radius 15 × OD; pull with a proper stocking, never on the core. • Post-installation DC test 4U0 = 2.4 kV for 15 minutes. • Ambient −20 to +45 °C, warm before laying below 0 °C. • Ratings are whole-cable values — apply ambient, grouping and burial derating. • Use lugs sized for the ≈ 8.3 mm conductor.

9. Usage Cautions. Bend ≥ 15 × OD; pull by stocking, never by the cores; avoid kinking; shield from UV and mechanical impact; run the DC site test before energising; load both cores symmetrically; match lugs to the ≈ 8.3 mm core.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Flame-Retardant Class C · XLPE Insulated · PVC Sheathed · Copper Conductor · 0.6/1 kV

Product Basics

Q1. What does the model “ZC-YJV” mean?
“Z” stands for flame-retardant, “C” denotes Class C flame-retardant performance, “YJ” means XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) insulation, and “V” means PVC sheath. ZC-YJV is a copper-core, Class C flame-retardant, XLPE-insulated, PVC-sheathed low-voltage power cable.
Q2. What does “2×50 mm²” indicate?
“2” means the cable has two cores (two insulated conductors within a common sheath). “50 mm²” is the nominal cross-sectional area of each copper conductor. This 2-core size is commonly used for single-phase main branch feeders and moderate-to-high current single-phase load connections in commercial and industrial installations.
Q3. What is the rated voltage?
The rated voltage U₀/U is 0.6/1 kV (0.6 kV phase-to-earth, 1 kV phase-to-phase), designed for low-voltage power distribution systems.
Q4. What materials are used in construction?
Conductor: plain copper, Class 2 stranded. Insulation: cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) on each core. Filler: non-hygroscopic material. Outer sheath: flame-retardant PVC. Standard ZC-YJV is unarmored. For direct burial or mechanical protection needs, armored variants such as ZC-YJV22 (double steel tape armor) are available.

Technical Specifications

Q5. What is the maximum operating temperature?
The maximum continuous conductor temperature is 90 °C. During short-circuit events, the conductor may reach up to 250 °C for no more than 5 seconds. XLPE insulation provides excellent thermal stability and high current-carrying capacity for power distribution applications.
Q6. What is the typical current-carrying capacity?
For a 2×50 mm² copper XLPE cable, the ampacity is approximately 145–180 A when installed in free air at 30 °C ambient. Multi-core cables have slightly lower ampacity than equivalent single-core cables due to mutual heating between cores. Lower ratings apply when buried, installed in conduit, grouped, or at elevated ambient temperatures. Refer to GB/T 16895 / IEC 60364 and manufacturer ampacity tables for precise engineering values.
Q7. What is the conductor DC resistance?
The maximum DC resistance of a 50 mm² Class 2 copper conductor at 20 °C is approximately 0.387 Φ/km (annealed copper), per GB/T 3956 / IEC 60228. Each core in the 2-core cable has the same resistance value. Confirm the exact value from the factory test report for each batch.

Installation & Applications

Q8. What is the minimum bending radius?
For multi-core unarmored cables, the minimum bending radius is 15 times the cable outer diameter (15D) during installation. Multi-core cables are generally more flexible than single-core cables of equivalent conductor cross-section. D = actual outer diameter.
Q9. What are the typical applications?
Common uses include: single-phase main branch circuits in commercial and residential buildings; power supply to medium-to-large motors, compressors, and HVAC systems; distribution board outgoing feeders for single-phase load groups; and secondary power distribution in industrial facilities where Class C flame-retardant performance is required.
Q10. Which standards and certifications apply?
Manufactured in accordance with GB/T 12706 (equivalent to IEC 60502), with conductor compliance to GB/T 3956 / IEC 60228 and flame-retardant testing per GB/T 18380 / IEC 60332-3. Common certifications include CCC (China), CE (Europe), ISO 9001, RoHS, and VDE/TUV for specific international markets.
